This article will discuss the various strategies law enforcement officers (LEOs) should use to successfully stabilize victims, gain their trust, and secure their effective cooperation in investigations and prosecutions. Survivor-centered, trauma-informed law enforcement interviews and investigations will be emphasized in order to foster effective collaboration among law enforcement victim assistance specialists and non-governmental organization (NGO) victim advocates.
