Reducing Violent Crime in American Cities: An Opportunity to Lead

In this report, the Police Foundation, in conjunction with Major Cities Chiefs Association, recommends steps to substantially change the way in which the new Administration focuses on, and addresses, violent crime. Forming the basis of the recommendations is input from local law enforcement executives, aligned with a review of agency documentation and research literature on effective violence reduction approaches and an analysis of federal agency programs, budgets, priorities, authorities, and performance.
