The Major Crime Scene Preliminary Investigation Train-the-Trainer course provides standardized training in preliminary investigative strategies at major crime scenes to promote established practices and protocols agency-wide. The curriculum addresses perimeter crime scene security, notifications, crime scene evaluation, evidence preservation, witness identification and interaction, suspect identification and interaction, area canvass, responding personnel, reports, courtroom testimony, media interaction, and more. This curriculum provides agency patrol officers with a baseline standard of knowledge and best practices by which to operate. It is designed to promote effectiveness and reduce agency liability. Training is taught by subject-matter experts. Delivery utilizes a team-teaching approach and proven adult-learning strategies and includes valuable resources and practical tools for first responders and responding supervisors.
