Major Case Investigative Teams (MCIT) Homicide Investigation Management Training

This training is based on best practices in homicide investigation management throughout the United States. The curriculum addresses trends, victimology, variables affecting homicide investigations, organizational characteristics of the homicide unit, homicide unit roles and responsibilities, crime scene responsibilities, interview and interrogation, eye witness identification, crime scene protocols, privacy considerations, and more. This curriculum provides homicide units with a baseline standard of knowledge and best practices by which to operate. It is designed to promote effectiveness and reduce agency liability. Training is delivered by subject-matter experts and is delivered utilizing a team-teaching approach and proven adult-learning strategies.
